The square neck on these carriage bolts grabbed the wood perfectly and didn't spin at all while I tightened the nut. I used them for a heavy-duty pergola base and they held up great, even with the 24-inch length. Nice solid feel for plain steel.

These bolts are exactly the right length for the heavy timber beams I'm joining, and the plain steel finish is perfectly fine for indoor framing projects.

The square neck under the head grabbed really well into the pressure-treated lumber I was using—no spinning at all during installation. The plain steel finish is exactly what I expected for the price, and having a full box of 40 means I have plenty left for future projects.
