The hex shape makes them easy to grip with pliers when I’m snugging down that #2-56 thread on my PCB mounts, and the nylon has a nice, slight give that prevents cracking. Exactly the 9/16" length I needed for a clean panel gap, and the bag of 100 will last me ages.
