I've been through a whole box of these on a gearbox rebuild and every single one seated perfectly with the hex socket drive. The cup point bites into the shaft exactly where you set it, so nothing slipped even under vibration.

The hex socket drive works great for getting a solid grip, even in tight spots. Only minor thing is that the black oxide finish seems to wear off a bit where the set screw is tightened against metal.
