The square neck grabbed instantly when I torqued them into oak—no spinning at all, which is exactly what you want from a carriage bolt. These 3/4-10s are fully threaded, so I had plenty of length to work with on a 5-1/2" joint, and the plain steel finish is clean. Solid value for a ten-pack.
