Just finished assembling a steel workbench frame and these carriage bolts seated perfectly with no stripped threads. The black oxide finish held up well against my wrench grips without flaking off. Exactly what I needed for that mechanical fastening job.

Used a bunch of these to build a heavy-duty workbench frame, and the square neck under the dome head bit perfectly into the wood to prevent spinning. The black oxide finish on the steel kept them from looking too shiny against the dark stain I used.

The black oxide finish looks great and should resist rust better than the plain steel ones I've used before. These 1/4-20 x 1-1/4" bolts seated perfectly into the wood for my fence brackets, and the square neck grabbed the timber just right. I'll be ordering another box for the next project.
