Finally found a supplier that gives you a full 900 pieces per package, which is perfect for batch-building jigs. The zinc plating seems consistently applied with no bare spots, and all the threads cut cleanly through aluminum.

Finally, a box of 900 M5s that actually holds up. The hex socket drive bites cleanly without stripping, and the zinc plating has a nice even finish that should resist rust in my jigs.

Installing these on a small robot chassis I'm building, and the hex socket drive makes them so much easier to tighten than slotted screws. The zinc plating gives them a clean look, and they fit perfectly into pre-tapped M5 holes.
