The cup point bites into the shaft like a champ, and at 3-1/2 inches long these are perfect for locking down a sprocket where I couldn't fit a regular bolt. Installed a few of these to lock down a pulley on a custom fixture, and the hex socket made tightening in that cramped spot way easier than a hex key. The 3-1/2 inch length gave just enough reach without being unwieldy.
